8th Skull Base Congress, January 9–11, 2026

Dear Colleagues, As the Skull Base Society, we will once again hold our annual meeting, which continues the tradition of our previous events and will bring together the disciplines of Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Radiology. This year, our meeting will take place at TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara.

8th Skull Base Congress

In this year’s meeting, which will focus on multidisciplinary approaches to the skull base, the latest developments in surgery, the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration, skull base anatomy, and imaging will be discussed. 03. Abstracts

Abstract Submission Deadline: December 19, 2025

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The abstracts to be presented at the congress should contribute to scientific progress and convey a clear conclusion message. As the abstracts submitted online will be printed exactly as received, attention must be paid to spelling and grammar. Authors are solely responsible for all errors in the abstracts.

Submitting abstracts online through the congress website is the only valid submission method. Abstracts sent via e-mail or regular mail will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts will be collected through the online abstract submission system.
  • Academic titles should not be used in author names.
  • Names should be written in lowercase letters with only the first letter capitalized.
  • The names of the institutions and departments where the authors work must be stated.
  • Only the first letter of the abstract title should be capitalized (abbreviations are an exception).
  • If an abbreviation is used within the abstract, its full form must be provided in parentheses.
  • The abstract should briefly state the aim and methods of the study, summarize the findings with sufficient numerical details, and present a conclusion based on these findings.
  • While uploading the abstract, the fields defined in the system should be completed without using additional headings.
  • The entire abstract (excluding the title and author names) must not exceed 300 words.
  • Abstracts will be submitted in Poster or Oral format; the topic category most appropriate to your abstract must be selected in the relevant step.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in text format and may include ONLY up to 2 tables and 2 images.

Any abstract that does not comply with these rules will be excluded from evaluation regardless of its content.

Evaluation of Abstracts

The evaluation will be carried out online by the Abstract Evaluation Committee, with the names and institutions of the researchers kept confidential. The results of the evaluation will be sent to all abstract authors as a written notification.

PRESENTATION INFORMATION

Poster

Abstracts accepted as poster presentations will be included in the Poster Presentations section of the proceedings book to be published after the congress. For poster presentations to be displayed and included in the congress book, at least one of the authors must have completed their congress registration.

Oral Presentation

Abstracts accepted as oral presentations may be prepared using any electronic presentation software. The time allocated for each presentation will be specified in the acceptance letters. For oral presentations to be delivered, the presenting author must have completed their congress registration. Abstracts that are not presented at the congress will not be published in the abstract book.

  • A 20% VAT is included in the registration fees.
  • Resident registration will be valid only with an official letter obtained from the department head/chair.
  • Coffee and tea breaks and lunch meals served during the congress

  • Access to scientific and commercial exhibition areas
  • Congress materials: program and abstract book, name badge, certificate of attendance
  • Daily congress registration will not be available.

Services Included in the Accommodation Fee;

  • Accommodation prices include 10% VAT and 2% City Tax.
  • Accommodation prices are package rates including breakfast for a 2-night stay (check-in on January 9 and check-out on January 11).
  • To benefit from the discounted registration and accommodation fees, the registration and accommodation payments must be transferred to the congress account within the early or intermediate registration periods, and the forms and payment receipt must be sent to the congress organization secretariat.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
  • Cancellations made by 26 September 2025 will be fully refunded.
  • For cancellations received between 27 September 2025 and 21 November 2025, a 50% deduction will be applied.
  • No refunds will be issued as of 22 November 2025.
  • Name changes can be made until 7 January 2026.
  • All refunds will be processed after the end of the congress.

Congress Name: 8th Skull Base Congress / KAFATABANI’26
Congress Venue: The 8th Skull Base Congress will be held between 9–11 January 2026 at TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara.

Congress Language: The official languages of the congress are Turkish and English.

Organization Secretariat Working Hours: During the congress, the Registration & Accommodation and Exhibition Area & Foyer desks will provide information services between 08:00 and 18:00.

Invitation Letter: An invitation letter will be sent upon request to participants who have completed their registration. This invitation letter is intended solely to assist participants in obtaining permission from their affiliated institutions and does not provide any financial support.

Name Badges: Name badge checks will be conducted in the congress center and all designated congress areas. Wearing a name badge is required for all participants to ensure the smooth running and security of the meetings.

Certificate of Attendance: All registered participants will be able to obtain their e-Certificates from the congress website after the congress by entering their email address.

Abstract Submission: All abstracts will be collected through the digiAbstract Online Abstract Module. Abstracts submitted by email will not be accepted. As abstracts will be published exactly as submitted, attention must be paid to spelling and grammar.

Organization Secretariat: The Skull Base Society has authorized 4 Team Organization as the official organizing company of the 8th Skull Base Congress.
