Dear Colleagues,
Advances in science and biomedical technology are driving progress in the medical field. This interaction has led to a diversification of diagnostic tests and an increase in minimally invasive surgical procedures. Technological advancements are also causing changes in the services provided to patients.
New medical methods and healthcare organization have brought new training areas to the forefront for physicians. In the 21st century, it seems impossible to continue the medical profession with classical medical education. It is now inevitable for us physicians to follow technology-based education in a digitalizing world. It is also necessary to work interactively in all branches and establish sustainable education communities.
If physicians determine their post-specialization interests under the umbrella of legal liability and financial factors, it will make it difficult for patients to access important health services in the future. In this context, it can be foreseen that the number of physicians dealing with skull base surgery may decrease. Unfortunately, there is a risk of patient suffering in the treatment of skull base diseases in the near future. One of the main goals of our association is to increase the number of physicians interested in skull base surgery and to support them in this field. We must work together to identify existing problems and develop solutions.
Dear physicians; You will be able to easily access many educational services under the roof of the Skull Base Association. From medical students who want to take anatomy courses through our association to all branch assistants related to this field, from physicians who want to have information about their patients but are outside the field to experts dealing with the skull base, many colleagues will be able to get help and support on many topics related to the skull base through our system. In order to contribute to the training processes of our physicians, we will also help them to be observers in centers with professional skull base surgery teams.
We will be happy to have neurosurgeons, otolaryngologists, ophthalmologists, endocrinologists, maxillofacial and plastic-reconstructive surgeons, as well as medical radiation oncologists and radiosurgery specialists working under the umbrella of our association. Our mission is to pioneer the establishment of successful teams in this field in our country. Becoming an actor in the field of skull base surgery within the global health system will be possible with your interest and support.
With love and greetings,
